Monkton EdgeMX: The Future of Mobile Maintenance Solutions

Monkton EdgeMX is a simple, intuitive solution that securely brings the entire maintenance lifecycle to mobile devices—even in disconnected environments.

EdgeMX kicks paper to the curb. The mobile app offers a seamless end-to-end solution that transforms the way maintenance supervisors, quality assurance personnel, supply shops, and maintainers operate. Think of it like ordering a meal or groceries from your phone, but for your maintenance needs—it's that simple.

With EdgeMX, supply personnel no longer have to wait around for parts or lock up their tools and walk to a desktop computer. Everything is on demand and accessible via the tap of a button.

What is EdgeMX?

EdgeMX is a Cloud Native, Edge-capable, self-deployed SaaS, meaning it runs effortlessly on iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs, Apple Watches, and Apple’s new spatial computer, the Apple Vision Pro. (It’s also coming soon to Android Phones, Android Tablets, as well as responsive HTML5.)

Monkton’s EdgeMX mobile solution is the outcome of our work on BRICE, EdgeMX’s mobile predecessor, which was implemented within the Air Force to jettison cumbersome, time consuming maintenance processes for U.S. Air Force (USAF) maintainers working on the flight line. The USAF estimates BRICE recouped between one to three hours daily per maintainer, with a total annual return on investment of $8,500 per maintainer.

There are countless EdgeMX use cases—anywhere and everywhere mobile or static assets must be tracked and maintained.

How does EdgeMX work?

The ability to access information in real-time is critical, and EdgeMX ensures your team can easily trigger actions on their mobile devices. Maintainers can request supplies and view availability instantly. Once a request is made, supply shops get an automatic heads up, and maintainers then receive an alert when the request is complete.

By automating processes and integrating them into existing databases, EdgeMX empowers supervisors to schedule work well in advance, saving time and reducing headaches.

Everywhere, everything, all at once

EdgeMX is not bound by location constraints. It’s NSA NIAP compliant, functioning seamlessly online, locally, or even in contested environments. With the flexibility of Amazon Web Service's Snow series of Edge Computing devices, EdgeMX can be deployed anywhere—on a base with no cell coverage, underwater, or on a carrier in the middle of the ocean. Even in the face of interrupted connectivity, the Edge server collects and transfers data back to the primary cloud when connectivity is reestablished.

EdgeMX isn’t just an app; it's a revolution in the palm of maintainers’ hands. With real-time accessibility, automated processes, and location-independent functionality, EdgeMX not only streamlines workflows; it offers unparalleled flexibility, making it a tool that adapts to nearly any operational environment.

Monkton's commitment to harnessing Edge Computing ensures all the solutions we develop set new accessibility standards and perfectly blend security, intuitive, user-friendly interfaces, and modern adaptability.

EdgeMX in the defense and commercial sectors

The versatility of EdgeMX extends to enterprise organizations, offering a streamlined approach to asset management and maintenance. Whether you need to track vehicle fleets or manage equipment in diverse industries, EdgeMX ensures efficient operations tailored to specific business requirements.

U.S. Coast Guard, Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force

The Department of Defense (DoD) is one of the world’s largest organizations, boasting $3.8 trillion in assets and $4 trillion in liabilities, but many of its property systems don’t meet auditing standards.

All U.S. service branches, just like the Air Force, have complex fleets that require meticulous maintenance. EdgeMX can be seamlessly integrated into operations, offering agnostic asset management for a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including helicopters, tanks, cars, trucks, ships, engines, generators, computers, weapons, buildings, base housing, and more.

The commercial transportation sector

In the enterprise transportation sector—from commercial aviation to taxis, moving services, and even medical transport—EdgeMX can address problems presented by legacy technologies and outdated processes. From improving air traffic control systems to enhancing parts tracking, EdgeMX streamlines operations and ensures the most efficient maintenance practices.

DEA, law enforcement, and other local municipalities

Whether you need to track a fleet of helicopters, police cruisers, salt trucks to combat winter weather, or even nuclear weapons systems, EdgeMX offers innate security and allows you to make informed capability decisions—while saving your maintenance personnel significant time. The app is also built for the future and informs artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

Whenever and wherever you need it

EdgeMX is incredibly versatile in managing any asset, regardless of type. EdgeMX also runs entirely on the Edge, with AWS GovCLoud with High Availability, meaning it still works without an internet signal or an uninterrupted WiFi connection.
